Additional Tips: see if you can find a plastic jar (like a peanut butter jar) so that the end result weighs less. This will be beneficial for those of you who are shipping overseas.

First of all, it’s not just any lip balm, it’s Burt’s Bees Beeswax Lip Balm. This is a product suitable for men AND women, don’t worry. Plus, there are a ton of different skin care products to try, and they are all quality.
(And don’t bees make a cute addition to any Spring-themed care package?)
Check out the Men’s section of the Burt’s Bees website, or head to amazon for a Head to Toe Starter Kit.
See the bunny on the front of this box? His official title is “Rabbit of Approval,” but long-time Annie’s customers know him affectionately as “Bernie.”
My hubby LOVES their shells and white cheddar, so I sent him several boxes of this on his mission. (The picture shows a family-size, but individual-serving boxes are smaller and lighter.)
It occurred to me recently that Annie’s products are perfect for Easter packages — Bernie shows up on nearly all of their awesome organic treats.
Check out an independent user-rating on blogger Creative Carissa’s site — complete with Bunny Tail decoration the pasta boxes have become so famous for!
As I’ve said before, if you purchase subtle pieces, seasonal jewelry can be used all year round. I recently found this site:
There are several beautiful necklaces — and gifts for men, too!
A necklace is inexpensive to mail, which is great news if your missionary is serving overseas, but beware of investing in an expensive gift is there’s a chance the package won’t arrive.
For anyone whose missionary will be in the MTC for St. Patrick’s Day, you might consider this option: Four Leaf Clover Cookies from Called2Serve.com
I have no experience with this site, but I’d love to hear feedback from those who have use it in the past–any good?
I was so excited when I found this! Bath & Body Works makes Clover Lotion ~ how perfect for St. Patrick’s Day, or anytime during Spring. Here’s the page where you can order online: Bath & Body Works
When my husband was in Brazil, I sent him an Easter package with plastic eggs, candy and little notes. While this is a classic for missionary packages, I recently came across a fresh take on the idea and thought I’d share it. It’s similar to the 12 Days of Christmas: each day, your missionary will get to open a plastic egg containing a scripture and an object. The messages tell, chronologically, of the events of the crucifixion and resurrection.
A simple list of both scriptures and objects can be found at the blog: An Ordinary Mom.
This is a great idea–clever, spiritual, thought-provoking…not to mention inexpensive and easy to ship!
The image comes from the blog: Julie K. (She has great ideas about recycling plastic eggs after Easter.)

Holiday-themed packages are among the easiest, and the month of March is no different. A few weeks before St. Patrick’s Day, send your missionary a package full of gold chocolate coins and rainbow skittles. This simple gift will delight the recipient, and requires very little effort on the part of the sender.
Whether your missionary is serving in the next county or a separate continent, breakfast cereal is one food that can definitely make the trip. For St. Patrick’s Day, you can’t miss with Lucky Charms — every kid knows this is one of the special cereals that only surfaced at Grandma’s house. But as one blogger recently learned, they’re good for you, too! . You can send a regular-sized box, or a couple single-serving packs. Be sure to include some green plastic bowls and spoons!
